Call was made to my landline. Claimed to be Visa card security. There was a lot of background noise that made it sound as if he was calling from a Call Centre. Said there were two suspicious transactions on my card and wanted to confirm they were mine. Wouldn't give a name or the visa card number the call was about. Wanted me to tell him the balance of the last statement. He knew the address and asked for postcode. Asked for my email address. Then bank sort code to check and confirm. Told me to go online to my bank statement. I told him I was calling my husband to check and he rang off. Thankfully I gave no details except for the sort code which is when I started to doubt this was legitimate and called my husband on my mobile.
